Sonia Gandhi vs. Prime Minister-ship of India : At one stage , there was a bigg fight on this issue. During my schooling, I was taught that the Citizenship of India can be acquired by BIRTH or by REGISTRATION or by NATURALIZATION (as the last one was granted to Mother Tressa for her longer stay in India and social service).
Further, to qualify for the Minister-ship of India by an individual of foreign origin, among other things, it is essentially required that the aspiring should be the citizen of India and such an arrangement also exists in the rules of his/her HOME COUNTRY. In these circumstances whether Mrs. Sonia Gandhi was qualified for Prime Minister-ship at that time as well also at present ? This is only for knowledge sharing and not for any political angle.
